Strategic Partnerships are expansive, mutually-beneficial, and special relationships with a limited number of overseas universities that go beyond the usual academic exchange agreements by taking advantage of the strengths of “ŗÓźÖ±²„app and each strategic partner university.
By utilizing the diverse activities with strategic partner universities, “ŗÓźÖ±²„app is able to promote diverse and interdisciplinary exchanges in addition to international educational and research exchanges. This enables “ŗÓźÖ±²„app to enhance the mobility of its academic and administrative staff and students, both at the graduate and undergraduate levels, all in an effort to gear “ŗÓźÖ±²„app’s excellent educational and research activities to a more international environment, as well as expand “ŗÓźÖ±²„app’s presence and increase its profile globally.
This project builds on the various projects that existed in various departments through the strategic partnership frameworks between 2014 and 2016. In addition to promoting interdisciplinary research and education with the support of the university”Æs administration bureau, it also aims to develop working frameworks for, among others, the acquisition of external funding by creating and strengthening sustainable relationships for the future. As of March 2024, “ŗÓźÖ±²„app holds strategic partnership agreements or memorandums of understanding with the eight primary strategic partner universities shown below. The Strategic Partnerships Project has been funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan, as a part of the ”°Top Global Universities Projects”± until the 2023 fiscal year. “ŗÓźÖ±²„app will continue the Strategic Partnerships Project beyond the 2024 fiscal year, even after the funding for the Top Global Universities Projects ends in March 2024.
*For updates on other strategic partnership activities, please refer to the ‘Recent Activities’ list *Details on the activities with each partner university can be found in the reports on the “ŗÓźÖ±²„app Strategic Partnership Symposiums explained below
?Under the framework of Japan Forum for Internationalization of Universities, we have conducted “Building a Network of ‘Strategic Partnerships’ to Strengthen International Competitiveness among Japanese Universities” in collaboration with eight other participating universities that had been carrying out their own strategic partnership projects—Tohoku University, Waseda University, Soka University, Keio University, Kyoto University, Osaka University, Ehime University, and Kyushu University.
?The International Projects Promotion Group regularly has held the “ŗÓźÖ±²„app Strategic Partnership Symposium to gain a deeper understanding about the activities of the strategic partnership with the various partner universities, as well as sharing good practices by showcasing past and current activities and plans for future collaborations.
