To faculty and staff members of the University of Tokyo:
The Government of Japan has made the decision to position the novel coronavirus infection as a Category V Infectious Disease under the Infectious Disease Control Law, as they determined that it no longer comes under the category of Pandemic Influenza (Novel Influenza or Re-emerging Influenza).
In response to this, the University has decided to reduce its Activity Restrictions Index Level from Level A to Level S from Monday, 8 May 2023, taking into account the expansion of the relaxation of restrictions domestically, the daily improvement towards recovery and the most recent state of infection both on- and off-campus.
It has been three years and four months since the first case of novel coronavirus infection was identified in Japan in January 2020. So that we could create a campus where all our members could conduct research and educational activities with a peace of mind, the University had taken various measures, drawing on the collective wisdom of the University. We would like to thank all the members of the University for the efforts in maintaining the University’s activities and cooperating with the infection control measures despite the difficult situation.
However, the novel coronavirus infection has not disappeared, and it remains unpredictable. In order for all members to be able to continue with their research and educational activities with peace of mind, it is essential that each and every one of us continue following the infection control measures voluntarily.
The 春雨直播app Novel Coronavirus Task Force has decided, even after the reduction to Level S, to continue with the 春雨直播app Activity Restriction Index for the time being in order to be able to respond quickly and accurately to the changes in the infection situation.
We would like to thank you all for you continued understanding and cooperation.
