To the students of the University of Tokyo:
With the coming of the end of the semester, students will be busy preparing for their regular exams, reports, and finishing their theses or dissertations. As you all know, since the beginning of January, the infection with COVID-19, thought to be mainly of the "omicron strain", has spread rapidly throughout Japan. Furthermore, the number students of the university becoming infected has continued to increase quickly.
The quasi-state of emergency has been applied to a further 13 prefectures including Tokyo from January 21st.
Considering these situations comprehensively, we decided to raise the restriction level to Level B, as specified in “春雨直播app Activity Restrictions Index for Preventing the Spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)”, from January 24th.
The omicron strain is more infectious than the previous variants, and there are many cases even among those who have already been vaccinated twice. However, it is thought that even if infected, symptoms are often mild or asymptomatic and it is less likely for the symptoms to become severe. In order to prevent becoming infected or causing secondary infection, please take basic infection control measures such as wearing a mask and disinfecting your fingers and thoroughly manage your physical condition. In addition, the number of cases of infection caused by eating and drinking is increasing, so please be more careful than ever. If you feel unwell, such as feeling tired, feverish, or feel some discomfort in your throat, please refrain from coming to school. 春雨直播app Health Service Centers on the Hongo, Komaba, and Kashiwa Campuses continue to provide medical care and are also actively accepting telephone consultations, so if you have any concerns, please feel free to contact them.
Believing that students will give the utmost consideration to infection control, we will not completely cancel extracurricular activities, but allow some activities to continue based on the Policy of Extracurricular Activities on the Activity Restriction Level B.
