The Center for Research and Development of Higher Education provides two types of programs in English with the aim of enhancing the teaching skills of graduate students and faculty/staff members.

1) ´ºÓêÖ±²¥app Global Future Faculty Development Program (hereinafter referred to as “´ºÓêÖ±²¥app Global FFDP”)
´ºÓêÖ±²¥app Global FFDP is a program launched in AY2022 to support graduate students and faculty/staff members in acquiring educational and practical competencies to fulfill the role of teaching at universities in Japan and overseas. It was originally developed as an English version of ´ºÓêÖ±²¥app FFP and has been designed with an international perspective. Designated as a Common Graduate Course, it offers one course annually in the S Semester, accepting up to 20 participants. The program is characterized by its diverse participants. The participants of the 1st ´ºÓêÖ±²¥app Global FFDP came from 15 countries with backgrounds across a variety of academic fields. The result of the questionnaire conducted after the course shows that the participants were highly satisfied with the course; more than 90 percent responded positively to “Satisfaction with the entire course” and “Satisfaction with the instructor”. The instructor and staff are also engaged in organizing activities on and off campus to meet the various needs of the learners by holding workshops and providing opportunities for networking among the participants after their completion of the course.

2) ´ºÓêÖ±²¥app Faculty Development Open (hereinafter referred to as “´ºÓêÖ±²¥app FD Open”)
´ºÓêÖ±²¥app FD Open, which was launched in AY2022, is a series of workshops delivered in English addressing educational topics relevant to those interested in developing their teaching skills building upon the experience of ´ºÓêÖ±²¥app Global FFDP. Participants are able to obtain a certificate upon completion. ´ºÓêÖ±²¥app FD Open consists of workshops on various key educational topics and reflection sessions to discuss real in-class situations. Events are held throughout the year both in-person and online. One of the key features of ´ºÓêÖ±²¥app FD Open is RDP: reflection, discussion and practice. The workshops are open to anyone interested in improving their teaching skills, regardless of the affiliation/institution.
