What is your favorite thing about Toyama?
I like the beautiful Tateyama mountains and also I would like to watch them from my window after going home. This is a great stress reliever and feel peaceful with the beautiful landscapes and the nature around here in Toyama. And the most delicious sushi adds an extra essence to it.
In what ways has your impression of Toyama or Japan changed since coming here?
Since before attending the university I had very good positive opinion for Japan and after coming here it got more stable. The warm greetings culture of Japan always brings positive vibes.
What attracted you to choose University of Toyama?
During my undergraduation I was selected for ASEAN scholarship. As a part of this scholarship I`m intended to study in University of Toyama. There after I searched in internet about the university and I was interested with the works going in the laboratories regarding the research. Pursuing my Master course in University of Toyama helped me to gain good knowledge in my research work.
In what ways did you adjust to Japanese culture?
I feel Indian and Japanese culture have few similarities but the way of representing is different. During intial days I faced a little difficulty because everything is new and there is no one here to speak. Later as days were passing, I found good friends and supporting people who made my stay easy in Japan. I tried to understand the work culture in Japan and got habituated to it slowly. There after I used to attend few gatherings in my university and visit few places along with friends. This helped me to adjust within Japan.
Please write a message to students or researchers in your home country who may be thinking about studying in Japan.
I really recommend Japan to whoever interested to pursue their higher education and want to settle in a good position in their career. We can gain good scientific knowledge
in the universities here and also we'll have a good practical exposure to research and development. I wish Good luck to
everyone who is aiming to study in Japan.
