Please give a short introduction of yourself.

Myself Ashwini Kumar majoring in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Village Bawani Khera state Haryana.

What is your favorite thing about Sendai?

The thing about Sendai I like the most is its good connectivity across the city. It is a medium scale city with full of various academic and nonacademic activities. The second thing that attracts me toward Sendai is its natural beauty. I would say it is the Kashmir of Japan.

In what way has your impression of Sendaior Japan changed since coming here?

My impression changed in terms of cultural diversity. Before that, I was thinking that India is only the most diverse country but no I was proven wrong after coming to Sendai.

What attracted you to choose Tohoku University as a place to study?

Tohoku University's Open door and research first principal policy attracted me towards it.

In what way did you adjust yourself to Japanese culture?

I actively take part in various cultural exchange activities across the Tohoku region and try to learn their culture as much as possible in order to be a good citizen in their society.

Please give a message to students or researchers in your home country who may be thinking about studying in Japan?

I would suggest my upcoming fellows, to learn Japanese as much they can before arriving in Japan, in order to make their initial days much smoother and easier.
