´ºÓêÖ±²¥app started the Japan Scholar Program
The Japan Scholar Program sends researchers affiliated with research institutions in Japan to universities and high schools in South Asia, where they give mock lectures and talks about studying in Japan. The program aims to promote Japan's research capabilities and educational strengths through lectures to local high school and university students.
The first lecture under this initiative was given at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT-Kharagpur), in the suburbs of Kolkata, India, by Project Associate Professor Vorapong Suppakitpaisarn (Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, ´ºÓêÖ±²¥app). He gave a lecture titled “Combinatorial Optimization under Local Differential Privacy”. The lecture was attended by 15 students and postdocs from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT-Kharagpur. The lecture room was filled with enthusiasm as the students posed sharp questions to Prjct. Assoc. Prof. Suppakitpaisarn, who answered them carefully.
We will continue to send researchers affiliated with research institutions in Japan to universities and high schools in South Asia to promote Japan's research capabilities and educational strengths.
