【ドキュメンタリー映画 "Playing with Nan"】 (日英/both in Japanese and English)

映画は参加観察法に基づき長期のフィールドワークにおいて撮影した映像素材（footage）を活用して制作され、日本のネパール人出稼ぎ労働者の生活の現実とネパールに住む家族の現実を映し出します。物語は登場人物の物の見方で綴られます。映画の鑑賞者は、「説明」からだけではなく登場人物の話す言葉や声の調子、仕草などを聞いたり感じたりしながら、「登場人物を知っていく」という形で、知識を形成していきます。（MacDougal 映像人類学者,1999年）
映画製作の目的は、ネパールと日本の情报差を埋め、相互理解を深め、よりインクルーシブな社会の実现に资することです。长期的には、この映画は、多様なバックグラウンドを持つ出稼ぎ労働者がその持てる能力を活用し、日本を含む世界各国のコミュニティで幅広く活跃できる、包括的でインクルーシブなよりよい社会创造の一助となるものです。
この映画は制作以来60箇所以上の国際会議やシンポジウム、国際ドキュメンタリー映画祭などで上映されています。2013年、英国王立人類学協会（RAI)からBest Ethnographic Research Film Prize 、2014年、アメリカ人類学会（AAA)からDavid Plath Media Award をはじめ、複数の賞を受賞しています。

The film has produced by utilizing footage grounded in participant observation methods to show the reality of the lives of Nepali immigrants in Japan and their families in Nepal. The story of the film comes from the character’s point of view. The film audiences can hear and feel the characters’ language, tone, and gesture, which allow them to construct knowledge not just through ‘description’ but through a form of ‘acquaintance’ (MacDougall, 1999).
The main intention to produce this film is to fill the information gap and deepening mutual understanding between Japan and Nepal and contribute towards a more inclusive society. In the long term, the film helps create an encompassing, inclusive, and better society where immigrants from many diverse backgrounds will be able to play a more significant role in the broader Japanese and the global community by contributing their ability.
The film has already been screened and discussed at international conferences, symposiums, and more than 60 international film festivals around the world and has won several awards, most notably the David Plath Media Award from the American Anthropological Association in 2014 and the Best Film Prize from at the RAI (Royal Anthropological Institute) International Ethnographic Film Festival, the UK in 2013, one of the world’s top awards for ethnographic research films
